This module will cover legal aspects related to the circular economy, with a particular focus on the new EU guidelines and resolutions outlined in the Circular Economy Action Plan. We will also examine how these aspects relate to other upcoming ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) regulations, as well as the relevant Swiss legal framework.
Throughout the module, we will explore a range of topics, including non-financial reporting obligations, financial incentives, Greenwashing, and procurement aspects. Furthermore, we will analyze sector-specific requirements and legal pitfalls for emerging circular economy business models.
We will consider the impact of digitalization, international value chains, and the powerful position of private stakeholders. This practice-oriented module demonstrates how the legal framework is implemented using a compliance management system. It makes use of case studies and presentations from guest lecturers from the business world.
