Introduce the concepts of State Space System and Transfer Functions and their relationship.
Provide a good understanding of the characteristics of Closed Loops Systems.
Define Aircraft Control System in terms of design objectives, components and practical issues.
Description and discussion of real-world cases studies.

Objectives

The objective of this Module is to provide knowledge and skills to understand the design, development and operation of aircraft control systems.

The student should learn how aircraft control systems are designed to comply with current guidelines and how to solve simple control system design problems.

Requirements

This course is open to all students who have passed the first year assessment. For external auditors, a basic knowledge of aircraft systems is necessary to understand the contents. Since the lectures and the course notes are in English, good comprehension skills of this language are
required.
