Whether analog or digital, as a sensor signal, as a time series, as an image or video – signals transport information. In order to make this information usable in a specific context, signals must be processed. This module introduces the theoretical and practical basics of digital signal and image processing. The concepts are first introduced for one-dimensional time series and then generalized to two- and three-dimensional image data.
